Do You Remember: Blake Lively Tried to Go Full Goop With Preserve
From Gossip Girl to faux-Southern Martha Stewart? Shockingly, it didn’t work
As Ryan Reynolds establishes himself as the current reigning king of Hollywood, it makes sense for his queen to make her own mark. Blake Lively, the actress many still think of first and foremost for Gossip Girl, has been married to Reynolds for almost 12 years. The pair met while making the awful Green Lantern adaptation and wed on a South Carolina plantation in 2012. They have four kids, are red carpet regulars, and prominent Taylor Swift BFFs. Lively isn't on the megastar level of Reynolds -- in fairness, few are -- but her stardom is inextricably entangled with that of her husband. It looks like she’s about to launch a new beauty brand, Blake Brown Beauty.
Launching yet another beauty line in a very crowded market is certainly a risk, and it remains to be seen if Lively has the golden touch of Reynolds in this department. Things have changed since she first entered the celeb brand market, but some of us will always remember the time she tried to make herself the artisanal, plantation-adjacent version of Gwyneth. Step forward Preserve.
