So when he told the world he was dating Alba Baptiste they rinsed and repeated and said "We don't hate that he's dating someone, it's just that she's not good enough for him" and fabricated an entire mythos where she's a Nazi because she had grandparents who moved to Brazil. Cloaking themselves as feminist watchdogs is as ironic as the Larries claiming to be allies with the LGBTQIA community. The ones who hate the Black female partners of white male celebrities do tend to skew more conservative and are also a nastier group overall since they know they can't claim any sort of progressive agenda so they tend to freely allow their racism to run rampant.
Yeah, I wrote about the crap poor Alba faced a couple of times for various sites. Seeing the Nazi lie was especially insidious but it didn't even surprise me because these conspiracies are all so heavily QAnon-adjacent. You see this a lot with stuff like Meghan Markle's biggest harassers, who are often middle-class white women who think of themselves as feminist and therefore it's their activist duty to "take down" someone who they think is a wrongdoer for whatever reasons they've conjured up. It doesn't surprise me to see Markle haters also tweeting Trump support and transphobia. But it's no less predictable when they're Biden/Hillary fans who are otherwise apparently reasonable. This Cumberbatch creep, for example, fits that strange mould.
This is a great article! The Cumbersceptics are a strange (no pun intended) bunch indeed. The wild thing to me is that Patty is one of the more "level-headed" ones of that group. There are others who are full-on antisemitic, transphobic, homophobic, racist bigots, spreading their hate on tumblr and twitter with seemingly zero consequence. It's utterly disgusting.
