Painful to absorb the reality of the dark side of human nature. The idea that Dorothy was complicit in her own demise is not a popular notion, but would be wise for all to take note. It sounds a lot like "blaming the victim", but we all have and make choices, and sadly her choices contributed to this awful outcome. Choose wisely who you associate with as this influences outcomes significantly. I think of OJ and Nicole Brown Simpson as I write this. Stay safe my friends.

What the fuck does this comment even mean, and why would you think it was a germane response to the article?

Dorothy should have...what? Magically made a career for herself **in fucking Hollywood** **in the fucking 70s and 80s** without associating with the same rapey assholes who ran (run) the industry? Anticipated that the man it sounds like she was semi-coerced into marrying would murder and posthumously rape her???

(Oh and Nicole Brown, FOR THE RECORD, divorced OJ Simpson after nearly 20 years of terrifying abuse, which included repeated threats to murder her if she ever did so. And was promptly murdered.)

Hollywood is a Satanic cesspool. I was awakened to this reality at an early age by the news of Roman Polanski, Hugh Hefner, Harvey Weinstein, and P. Diddy. et al. Hollywood and it's ilk eat people up, and spit them out.

Great piece. I’d like to see a critical examination of Holly Madison, who in my view was complicit in the “crimes” of Hefner during her reign as First Lady of the Mansion. She sells herself as a first-person voice of the victims of the Playboy machine but never dared speak up while it was happening all around her. Why? Money, “the life,” her own celebrity, and the perceived power she derived from being affiliated with what was by then a dying brand. Holly Madison is now a profiteer and a ghoul, feeding off the misery of the young girls paraded down the halls of mansion. She’s a post-mortem Hefner, scavenging off the corpses. Again, her complicity with Hefner makes her so awful, distasteful and disingenuous.
